B.R.O. ( BROTHERS REDEFINING OPPORTUNITY )
Every young man of color deserves to be well in mind, body, and spirit.
It started in a barber’s chair in Bed-Stuy. We built the room we wished we had — a brotherhood where healing is brave and every man finds his purpose.

WHAT B.R.O. STANDS FOR
Three letters. One promise.
BROTHERHOOD
No young man heals alone. Before a single lesson, we build the room — a safe space enough to take the armor off.
REDEFINING
We challenge the old rules — the ones that said real men don’t feel, don’t ask, don’t heal.
OPPORTUNITY
When a young man knows who he is, everything opens — school, work, fatherhood, leadership.

How We Do Our Work
The BRO Experience Foundation is rooted in a wellness-centered, CBT-informed approach to youth development. We believe that true growth begins when young men understand the deep connection between their mental health, emotional wellness, and daily behaviors. Through the lens of the 7 Dimensions of Wellness — Emotional, Social, Intellectual, Physical, Spiritual, Occupational, and Environmental — we guide young men to explore who they are, heal from what they've carried, and build the skills to live with intention and purpose.
Thoughts
Wellness Begins in the Mind
We help young men examine the stories they tell themselves — about who they are, where they come from, and what they're capable of. Mental wellness starts with self-awareness.
Emotions
Healing Requires Feeling We create space for emotional wellness by normalizing vulnerability, building emotional literacy, and equipping young men with tools to process, not suppress, what they feel.
Behaviors
Wellness Becomes a Way of Life
We challenge our young men to align their actions with their values — developing habits rooted in self-care, community, and purpose.
The Work We Do
We create supportive spaces and deliver powerful programming to help young men and fathers of color build the skills needed to thrive in their communities and beyond.
