Celebrating Cohorts, National Television Coverage, Packed Events, and More - The Spring Recap Newsletter

Dear BRO Community,

April has been a month to remember. From Barry, Isaac, and Unique sitting down with CBS News New York to talk about the role of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in our work, to the energy and community spirit of the BKO X BRO Experience Mural Volunteer Day, to celebrating the Group A and Group B cohorts who completed the 2025-2026 BRO Project, there has been a lot to take in. And now, in partnership with TechFIN, we're heading into May with something big on the horizon for young fathers in our community. In a time when the work of uplifting people can feel endless, it's worth pausing to recognize just how much has happened, and how many people made it possible

CBS Visits The BRO Space

First up, The BRO Experience is back in the news, this time on CBS! Barry, Isaac, and Unique sat down to discuss Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and why it sits at the heart of what makes the BRO Experience different. It's a powerful look at the intentional, research-backed work happening every day in our programs. Watch the full interview at the link above, and thank you to CBS for continuing to amplify our mission.

Thank You To All Of Our Volunteers

The BKO X BRO Experience Mural Volunteer Day was an overwhelming success, and it's all because of you. To everyone who showed up, picked up a paintbrush, and assembled BRO Care Kits: your presence in our space is a powerful statement. It tells the young men we serve that their community doesn't just care, it shows up. A heartfelt thank you to Chloe Pitkoff for her stunning mural design, a vivid and meaningful tribute to the stages of a man's life. And to Brooklyn ORG, thank you for helping bring this vision to life and making the day everything it was. We are moved by the generosity and warmth that filled that space.

Congrats To Our BRO Project Cohorts!

Congratulations to both the Group A and Group B cohorts on completing the 2025-2026 BRO Project! Throughout this year, both groups showed a deep commitment, not only to their own well-being, but to the well-being of their community as a whole. While this year's cohort has wrapped up, every participant will always have a home at The BRO Experience. We can't wait to see what's next for each and every one of them.

Free Laptops For Fathers

Big news for young fathers in our community. TechFIN and the BRO Experience are teaming up to distribute 50 FREE laptops to fathers ages 18–30 with one or more children. TechFIN is committed to closing the technology gap by putting refurbished devices in the hands of those who need them most, and the BRO Experience is proud to stand alongside them in that mission.

Join us on May 29th at the BRO Experience Wellness Center, where laptops will be distributed to all eligible participants who sign up in advance. If you're a young father in need of a laptop, or you know someone who is, fill out the form below. Don't miss this opportunity.

Save The Dates!

We are excited to announce our newest campaign, Walking For My Brothers! With the help of Charity Footprints, we are launching an interactive campaign where you can walk to help raise money for the BRO Experience.

More information on how to sign-up will be sent out soon, so stay tuned!

Our Redefine Wellness Event, From Reel to Real, is back on May 22nd. This time we will be doing a screening of Native Son, the story of a young man navigating a seductive world of money and power.

As always, come for the movie and stay for the engaging community conversation, this time about the self identity in a world full of labels. We can't wait to see everyone there!

The BRO Experience Foundation x New York-Presbyterian Hospital

Two institutions. One mission. Whole young men.

The BRO Experience Foundation is proud to announce a powerful new partnership with New York-Presbyterian Hospital—bringing together Brooklyn's leading youth wellness organization and one of the nation's most respected healthcare systems in service of young men of color across New York City.

This collaboration reflects a shared belief: real health doesn't start in a clinic—it starts in community. Together, BRO and NYP will expand access to mental health resources, wellness education, and clinical support for the young men BRO serves daily across all five boroughs, ages 8 to 24.

Through this partnership, BRO Space Wellness Center, BRO's school-based programs, and its community-facing digital platform Be Well Bro will be strengthened by NYP's clinical expertise—creating a continuum of care that meets young men where they are, not where institutions expect them to show up.

This is what it looks like when healthcare gets proximate. When systems choose to invest in prevention, not just treatment. When the community isn't just a target population—it's a partner.

Brothers Redefining Opportunity. Now with the clinical muscle to match the mission.

Show Your Support

To everyone who has donated, volunteered, or supported us—thank you. Uplifting young Black and Brown men uplifts entire families, communities, and futures. The results are undeniable: happier, healthier, more communicative men who bring that energy into every space they enter.

This work is urgent. It’s not an exaggeration to say it's a matter of changing and saving lives. With all of the strides and experiences we made this summer, we look to the future to continue a new generational cycle— one where everyone can be well.

With gratitude and love,
The B.R.O. Experience Foundation
