The BRO Project

Join us on this life-changing expedition where opportunity meets purpose.

Together we redefine what's possible in The BRO Project, an immersive 12-month journey tailored to empower young men of color (aged 18 to 24), who have been justice-impacted, are high school nongraduates, or have become disconnected from their community.

Spearheaded by The B.R.O. Experience Foundation in partnership with Bridge Street Development Corporation the Center for Community Alternatives, and The Pinkerton Foundation, our mission is clear:

to create an unwavering support system that cultivates self-development resulting in transformative personal growth and enriching life experiences for every participant.

At its heart, The BRO Project is a personal development program that creates a safe and supportive space for young men to be their authentic selves.

  • We hold group sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays and provide one-on-one mentorship and coaching each Friday.

  • The curriculum offers a blend of soft and hard skills, creating space to think thoughts, feel emotions, and reflect on behaviors.

  • Group sessions are built on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and facilitated by our Fordham University and Hunter College social work master’s students with oversight from Executive Director Barry Cooper.

  • Food is provided each day, and participants earn a stipend for attending.

  • In addition to facilitated sessions, case management, and individualized support, there is also enrichment through music workshops, legal referrals, housing workshops, and guest speakers.
