The Cost of Gun Violence Panel
Last week, our Executive Director Barry Cooper had the profound honor of joining Pulitzer Prize winner Trymaine Lee (@trymaine.lee) and Dr. Rob Gore (@siriema22) for a deeply moving panel lead by Irvin Weathersby (@irvinwrites) the Center for Brooklyn History.
Centered around Trymaine's powerful new book, A Thousand Ways To Die, the conversation explored the devastating toll of gun violence on Black men and communities, but more importantly, the ways we can support, heal, and uplift each other in the face of this crisis.
It was one of the most electric panels we have been a part of. Being in a room with people committed to interrupting violence, nurturing our young men, and building pathways toward healing reminded us why this work matters so much.
We're grateful to have been part of such an important conversation alongside these incredible leaders, and to the Center for Brooklyn History for creating the space for our community to come together.
A full video of the panel will be available soon. We can't wait for you to experience it.
