We’re Honored to Be a 2026 Spark Prize Winner!

We’re incredibly grateful to Brooklyn Org for naming The B.R.O. Experience Foundation one of the 2026 Spark Prize winners, a recognition that celebrates organizations driving meaningful change across Brooklyn. The Spark Prize awards each honoree a $100,000 unrestricted grant to support their work — and we’re honored to receive this investment in our mission to expand emotional wellness, resilience, and leadership for young men of color.

This year’s cohort of winners reflects the diversity and strength of Brooklyn’s nonprofit ecosystem. We join in celebration with:

  • Asiyah Women’s Center — supporting survivors of domestic violence with culturally-sensitive shelter, advocacy, and mental health support,

  • Black Trans Femmes in the Arts — uplifting Black trans femme artists through community-led programming, residencies, and creative platforms,

  • Surveillance Technology Oversight Project (S.T.O.P.) — protecting civil rights by confronting discriminatory surveillance technologies, and

  • YVote — engaging youth in civic life and democratic leadership.

Each of these organizations is doing powerful work in our borough — from strengthening community safety and creative expression to defending civil rights and empowering youth participation in democracy. We’re honored to stand alongside them.

Winning the Spark Prize means we can expand our BRO Space Wellness Center, roll out digital resources at bewellbro.org, and support even more young men of color on their journeys toward emotional resilience and healthy connection.

Thank you again to Brooklyn Org for this recognition and support. We’re energized and ready to continue building community, courage, and growth across the borough.
